| If he's bench testing it out of the car then energizing the coil, 85 ground, and 86 12 volts then he would check continuity between the remaining prongs 30, and 87. If no continuity with the coil energized then the relay is bad. IF there is then it is fine. | |

What he stated is how to test a relay. You have to energize the coil in order to test if the relay clicks over, and completes the circuit.
Missed that. Yes, for relay testing, power is needed for the "click" sound, closing the circuit. You have to listen for a click. If it clicks, it's good. That's one way to test a relay. But like stated above, to test for continuity or resistance with a multimeter, you don't power the relay. There is just a little misunderstanding is all. back on topic, update OP? | |

| Sorry guys, I forget not everyone has the shit I do. This is what I use to test them in the car. You plug the tester into the fuse block, and then plug the relay into the tester. Then you can see if everything works, or jump hot or ground to any terminal to see if the wiring is good. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Did you consider a clogged fuel filter? With a new fuel pump you may stirred up some sediment that was suck into the system clogging the fuel filter. | |
