i know that there is a forum about which diff to get. but i would like to know what would cause a one tire fire? that is the situation i am in i have the passenger tire getting all the power and nothing on the drivers side. i think this is why i can power slide a left turn but when taking a right turn my steering binds when i put my foot into the gas. any thoughts on this?

Because you have an open differential and there is less weight on the right side of the car. Put a fat kid in the passenger seat and try again.

a welded diff sucks on a street car that gets driven alot do the both tires being LOCKED so the car will hop/screech when turning at low speeds. which would get very annoying driving as much as you do.

look into a cheap VLSD those can be had for $50-$200

if he delivers pizza he prob drives around town a lot and does a lot of sharp turns which would kill tires with it welded. either way he isnt doing that now.

i daily drive my coupe everyday with a welded diff and its not as bad as people think . as for the tires yes it will kill your tires but not as bad as people make it sound. my cheap federals on my enkei's i have had them for 6 months of daily driving an still have quite a lot of thread. but than again i do put like 250 miles a day or so.

If you are still looking to get the diff welded my friends at midnight hot rods can weld it up for you. The shop number is 262 349-9409 if you are intersted. Not to sure how much they would charge you tho.
