sr20det what cams are these?

I'm wondering what cams i have, i was told they were hks but i dont think they are, also what the heck is the glob of black silicon doing on the inside of my valve cover, what is its purpose, is it stock?

The hks cams have hks SR20 engraved in them from the pics i didnt see anything but if you want to make sure you can turn the crank by hand and see if the marks are on the other side, as for the glob i dont think its stock it looks like black silicone to me

Ding ding. If it's a aftermarket cam. They will almost always have there names on there with the size of cam/cams. And Im positive hks marks all their cams

i sent the pictures to martin at rs enthalpy and he thought they were jwt cams, which dont have markings.

Unless it might be reground cams. Check to see if there is a small Nissan symbol.

I have that same black glob of Silicone on the underside of my valvecover also. I couldn't figure out what it was for either so I left it there. It must be factory though, because my engine is totally stock.

there is a white paint mark on the intake cam, i didnt roll the engine over but looked again and say no other marks, i also measured the cam lobes the high point i got 38mm and the low i got 32mm on both intake and exhaust

The Black Glob is common on all SR valve covers.

the lobes look too aggressive for stock, but that's just a guess. :shrugs:

Either way, i bought jwt cams so if anyone wants the ones i had let me know. i have a video of my car with them in if your curiouse
