Bought this car a while ago, have not had any good luck with it yet. But when I bought it this is what it was:
1993 240sx Hatchback
SE
Automatic
183,xxx
Some kind of aftermarket deck (I don't remember brand, I planned on changing it anyway)
Drilled and Slotted rotors all around
timing chain snapped. The guy I bought it from had all the pieces to put the motor back together, so that's what we did
Got it all back together and it didn't have compression. I found out later that it looked like none of the valves had pressure against the cam on the intake side. So final conclusion was that motor was junk and I looked for another one.
It was a year later that I found a KA that had '105k' and 'ran great' and a 5 speed transmission. so over that winter and spring I bought all the pieces for a 5 speed swap.
Summer came and I had finally gotten the last piece I needed.
So out went the original KA, and all the automatic krap. In went the 'newer' motor and 5 speed tranny.
Long story short, got it all together finally got it to run and guess what? the motor that was supposed to be in "great shape" rod knocked like a bitch and had coolant mix in with the oil.

NEW PLAN: Take original motor and
replace head
mild port and polish (may just gasket match it myself along with the slight port and polish)
Good head gasket, probably cometic or fel pro
ARP headstuds
take exhaust cam off other motor for a 248/248 cam setup
