Look at chasebays for a smaller booster and tucked harness/lines. Im proud of you that you got the motor and trans out. Soon my friend, i will be calling you to tell you that im on my way to slap the new motor in. Not next weekend, but the friday after may be when.

guide
tensioner
timing chain/belt
shims
stoppers
rocker arms

any advice on were to look is appriciated

So.... What else are you getting to make 300 hp?

300HP N/A KA is gonna need a few more parts. light high compression pistons. aftermarket rods. Camshafts/etc etc. and honestly either need a e85 tune or race gas to run a compression ratio as high as you will need to run 300hp.

well assuming i have reaserch correctly it take a full head build and blue print. i have to stroke the the block(gigidy) and it all falls on fuel and tune i figure at the end of it all id make 280 on 91 octane.....i hope LOL ill post the list of parts as soon as i have mated parts that will function . if al odds end ill boost!!

Stroke to what, 3.0L?? I'm not saying it's not possible, I just think you may be overly optimistic.

so far , jim wolf adj. cams ,BC cams 272/272 ,BC retainers/valves 31.80mm ex/37.10mm IN ,shims and buckets,bronze guides and copper seals,BC springs seat. 1.400@73lbs,open 0.950@155lbs <- top end

BC stroker +5 over ,tomei oil pump,and a turbo set oil pan.

tune will be morethen likely a dyno with 255pump and sr20 injectors with a true CAI on msd blaster, light fly wheel ,j30 diff,aluminum drive shaft and hopefully a turbo trans if i can find one that bolts up .....

my guess 250hp full contact on the ground with instant response.

i guess im trying to build a solid block at stock form(sort of speak) and see what can happen when its done with a set goal in mind , plus its a long term thing ill build the pulled motor and drop in the donor for now.

i think Brian Crower made/makes a 2.6L or is it a 2.8L stroker kit for the KA might want to look into that.

well ive always had respect for chevy's and ford's and the ability to make amazing numbers just dedicating time to look at all aspects of power , that can be achivied . the KA is so basterdized i just think its worth making a solid KA and see were we stand when the dust settles.

will i make 300HP..........who knows! but it will be a good learning for me and ill feel great when i achive it be 210 or 280.

yeah they do /but id like to see what i can get stock block before i go stroke.

i had a question can i adapt a ka24e upper intake to a lower 24de intake?

id like to lighting the load and improve response on drive train.

i have no idea on something like that. you might want to just have someone make you a custom intake plenum. or look on ebay? i think i've seen some on there.

91 octane is going to cause a bunch of unwanted detenation. My built ka had huge problems until i went with race gas and it cleared up instantly.

272/272 cams are going to be laggy, check out the xcessive engineering oil pan(awesomeness) with an sr moroso pan. Stroker wont be necessary, but will get you the numbers you want with awesome torque numbers to go with them. The 255 fuel pump wont be enough (i would recomend a pair of them or a pair of bosch 044's) Stock sr injetcors are 370's. Which will be way to small for you. I would look around the 850 range to be safe (can always tune them down). For valve train stuff, look into the JWT 350z transplant they did in matt powers formula d ka-t (hes now ls3). Xcessive also make adaptor plates to mate a z32 trans to a ka.

Stock bore is too small, your going to have to bore it out at least .020 over. Build the donor motor and just throw a trans and new gaskets on the old motor. Donor has way less miles.

nope, wont fit, bolt pattern and hole location is different(a lot of unneccesary work for extra restriction) .

No need for a custom manifold, xeccesive makes one of those as well that flows very nicely for turbo cars, dont see why it wont help an N/A car. But if it were me, and this is just a suggestion, go with ITB's (individual throttle bodies). Can be a pain in the ass to get them all tuned the same, but help make enormous numbers. But your going to have to make a custom manifold.




Text me if you have any more ideas. This could be a sick setup if done rite. But not the easiest on your wallet.

Challenge: Biggest hurdle your going to have, is figuring out how to keep it from over heating. Ka's are very good at that.

go 2.6l with 12.5:1 compression and get lots of porting done. the ka doesnt rev that high so maybe stick with a 264 ish cam. you might not make 300hp but your torque is going to be great.
