Help me get to the last wi240sx meet of 2011

Ok heres the deal, my dash lights and my tail lights dont work.. I checked the fuses, wires, connections, I replaced the bulbs in the cluster i even tried a different gauge cluster. i was driving one day and noticed my driver side head light didnt work.. then went to the fair. came back to drive home and the head light worked but the dash lights didnt.. then got pulled over and the cop told me my tails dont work just the break lights.. i didnt mess with any of the wires other then putting a cd player in it when i first got it and its worked since then.. so i need help trouble shooting.. if anyone has a idea please let me know.. Yea I pulled the whole radio so yea nothing is connected.. nick found me a link of a guy with the same problem I tried it and it still dont work.. replaced all the fuses checked wires and connectors idk what else

Headlight switch, bad/loose ground, wiring harness rubbed through...

The switch is what it sounds like to me. Just my Test it before replacing...

I'd second this. I've seen so many kids come through my work after chopping their harnesses, and mulleting up their radio install and wonder why their dash and tail lights no longer work.

I dont know if s14 are like s13s but for me there is a small white box next to where my fuses are inside the driver side... If u have that box, check to see if everythings good or not

Yea i rechecked all the stereo wires.. but its all uncut factory harness.

600sx, i thought it could be the switch too (still do) because my blinkers have never worked on this car and maybe its just getting worse. how should i test the switch?

and kouki no the s14 does not have the tcu box.

Well, if your blinkers don't work, I would definitely look at the headlights switch or the wiring in the steering column.

To test: Find a wiring diagram and make sure you have power going into the switches, and then turn the switch on and see if the output wires send the power out to the headlights/dash lights/turn signals. Use either a test light or a multi-meter. If all the fuses and wiring/bulbs at the lights are good, this is the next logical step in my mind.

Will do, i work a 12hr today so ill have to try this tomarrow.. ill let you know how it goes. if anything.. does anyone have a blinker switch? pay pal ready.. lol

I forgot if tony said there was a s14 in the jy or not but try asking him???

I need to find a diagram and do i have to splice into the wires or how do i do that?

No splicing. Just use the end/connectors. Make sure wires are not shorting/touching other wires or grounding when they're not supposed to.




EDIT: Or if wires are even connected at all, ie. cracked/broken and not touching.

Iam using a test light i have one end in the plug that hooks up the the switch and one end on the little "things" that plug into it and iam not getting any reading at all??

Sorry for not specifying. I wasn't sure what method you were using.

For the test light, the clip goes to ground somewhere and the probe needs to touch a positive wire. If there is current going through, the light should light up.

idk what iam doing with wiring so i bought 2 switches still waiting for them. other then that idk what else to do. FML

Got a new blinker switch and its not the switch my buddy is ganna show me how to check relays I hope that works.

Tails work! But blinkers don't and my blinker relay seems to be missing. Would my hazards still work if the blinker relay was junk or missing?

yes, hazards are on a different relay
