s14 r33 Daily Driver Build/Restore

Hello here is the build up of my daily driver it's a 95 240sx picked it up for $2100 in pretty rough shape, lots of potential.

Driving it home first gas station shot.

Rebuilding the Front Suspension



Has bad 1/4 panel and rocker rust, kinda a cover up.




Fixing the terrible strut tower rust problem




Using a 4ft Pry bar and a 10ft Pole to hold down strut tower as i weld.



Tacked in 2 patches then ran out of welding wire!i! ugh


Waiting until next weekend so I can finish welding patches.



Back to work! Few random pics with parts on, alot better then looking at rust.

Figured I should like up the skyline hood with the stock fenders so it follows the body line.

Another Weekend! Working on the Passenger Fender





Deleted both 240 body line and skyline body line



Next weekend..(2 Days ago) Driver's Side fender, starting.



Had to go and never got to finish the driver's side. So far it's welded in and fiberglass body filler was applied.

Some upcoming stuff, I ordered the Nismo Side Skirts and Rear Lip hoping to match the Nismo Front Lip that came with the r33 front end. Also waiting until Mid-May for when the Origin Type-2 50mm Rear Fenders are available to snag a set of those. Along with Digital Snow Camo wrapping the whole car.

Why did you halfass the rust repair?

For the rockers and 1/4 panels? Those are just quick cover ups for for the rust I really haven't started going at it yet. There is a local fabrication company that I will be talking to about getting rocker panels made. Last time I went there they said they are booked for awhile. As for the 1/4 panels I have planned to cut the rust out when fitting the origin wide fenders.

1 question though that is bugging the shit out of me...

Why start the S14 when you have a baller 2J SC sitting there?!

Yeah that is pretty interesting isn't it. There are a lot of cars like yours that people just drive until they are scrap, and worthless. I suspect the cars aren't rare enough yet for folks to be willing to do serious restoration work vs. buying a new roller.

Yeah I guess that makes sense they are such nice cars too though.

When you're done with it, that r33 conversion is gonna look killer. I'm really waiting to see the tail lights molded in...

Thanks Jim! I started getting ideas together for the tail lights, I think I'm gonna whip out a handfull of cardboard and start cutting it up pre planning, and maybe thinking of getting a s13 trunk lid and use that as a curve.

Make sure you perfect it so when you do mine, it's flawless!

Looking good chris, Way to much ambition lol... If you need a S13 coupe trunk lmk i got a spare i'd let go to you real cheap.

I have a spare S14 trunklid if you need it.

Thanks guys! Painted the fender yesterday and today vinyl wrapped the fender.




Another thing since I started vinyl wrapping i wanted to make sure there wasn't anything i would of wanted to paint black and did this very quick photoshop.

I kind of like the fog light housings black. As for the hood, I'm not sure... I've toyed with the idea on mine, but I'm not sure I wouldn't get tired of it.
