Abjerk's '90 S13 Build (Research in Progress ((RIP pun not intended))

A bit of history. My daily driver got paid off in April and since then I've been saving for my 240sx. I found a really good deal after searching for about a month on craigslist. The car is a 1990 S13 hatch from Cincinnati, Ohio. The car is a shell for right now. It came with a 6 pt roll cage installed and tubs and is for the most part 95% rust free. The body has a few minor dings but can be pulled or fixed with bondo. I don't really have many pictures yet of the car but here is one from when we were towing it back all the way to Milwaukee with a 2.2L Chevy S10 lmfao.

I plan to swap a series 2 RB25DET motor into it and upgrade the suspension for a street/drift setup. I also plan on getting rid of the nasty AIT body kit and restoring it to an OEM 180sx Type X aero. My HP goal is 350-400hp which should be easily doable with the RB motor.

That thing is still for sale? :O wicked. The problem then is finding the rest of it to complete the motor tho. :S

Price has dropped, and I've been told the head can be fixed...

Do you have an estimate of how much it would be to fix the head? Also is it a series 1 or 2 rb? Finding an ECU and harness should be interesting. My plan was to call up Zero Lift Auto Lab and have them ship me one with everything ready to go.

I don't have a number, but it's just welding and machine work. You won't find a stronger bottom end for the price.

RB26DETT is way more than I'm willing to spend. RB25DET can get me where I want if I went with a 26 anyway. Stock internals are known to hold up well up to 500hp.

Sorry I'm gonna pass just because I'd have to buy a lot of things which are hard/expensive to find to get it running versus buying my stuff through Zero Lift.

Not as long as I made it seem (hopefully)! With any luck I'll get a M-F 40HR a week job and the cash should start flowing in. I just graduated but the job market still sucks ass. But yeah go big or go home. It'll take a couple years at least to get it where I want it to be. Should be running way sooner than that though!

looks like youve got some work ahead of you to get those quarters back to normal, previous owner seemed to roll just a little too much. But i hope to see it become your dream. Take your time and do it rite. Also, it looks like the wiring harness is junk and youll be re wiring the entire car. So you mite as well make your own engine harness and start with 600's built bottom end. You can find everything youll need for it online.

man it looks like they robbed everything from that car. i have a 90 parts car if you need something. like a wiper motor etc..

Indeed I do. The quarters aren't that bad in person I think it was just the sun in those pictures. They're just tiny dings that need to be pulled or filled with bondo. I think most will be able to be filled. And yeah I'm not looking forward to the wiring bit. The problem with taking 600's stuff is that it doesn't include the turbo and everything the swap from Zero Lift Auto Lab has. Plus I'd need to repair the head and I think I'd be better off financially just importing one.

Those pics dont make it look like theres a bunch of dents, just how the previous owner rolled/pulled them he cause massive dents. Inflate a basket ball inside them and it should push them out a bunch. Please dont cover this thing in bondo to make it smooth. Youve got plenty of time to build it, do it rite. The RB is all you, i dont have a clue how hard it is to find parts. I only know they are stupid expensive. But you get what you pay for with them.
