| So ive had the car for almost 2 weeks now, and 2 days ago i went to go open my trunk and - nothing. I pulled the lever, the trunk didnt open. Last week i took the spoiler off and did notice the trunk would almost fly open, rather than have to be lifted. With the backseat down you can hear the cable moving, but the trunk doesnt open. What could this be? Could the cable have simply came off the latch inside the trunk? | |

Sounds like the easiest and first thing to check. | |

| Does the handle retract? Cause if its not springing back to the middle possition then it either broke or fell off. If thats not the issue, it could just be a missalignment problem. latch comes lose and cant free itself. Looks like its time to drop the back seat and crawl around. | |

| From inside the car drop the seat down and reach in to the latch. There is a manual lever to pop the trunk. Pop it. After that I bet it will open no problem. Sometimes the latch gets stuck. Has happened to me on my s14.

| There is a "switch" on the S14 trunk latch that will disable the cable action so someone can't break into the trunk by reaching in the window. I don't remember exactly what it looked like but that happened to me years ago. | |

| on the latch in the trunk, you will have to look behind the carpet if memory serves. Its part of the latch assembly on the part that's not attached to the lid.
