CAR WHEN I FIRST GOT IT The car started out as a 1993 Nissan 240SX Coupe When she got it from a friend it had a few little mods - Climb sport springs and RS-R shocks, Silvia LSD, painted KA24DE, Old school Recaro seat (passenger)
I then ordered the Tech2 Motorsports swap kit and my 2JZGTE
pulled the KA.
Itstalling new fuel lines, the new xmember and coilovers/brakes, and took some of the sound deadning out of the trunk.
front suspesnion with some new components.
Took the wiring harness off the 2JZ (PITA)
Little pic to compair the size of the KA to the 2JZ Size.
Tore out the Rear subframe. (New polyurethane bushings to go in tonight) Along with the new coilovers and other suspension peices.
Sent the wheels out to get repainted/refinished by Vinny ad DESTRUCTION WAREHOUSE!
finished up the rear subframe torn apart and had all the new suspension peices put on.
here are the Epsilon wheels that we had redone.
got the car back on the ground in November 2008
i got some new tires for the car. (225/50/15 BFG Drag radials) (205/55/15 BFG KDW II)
I picked up a East bear 8point roll cage. (old pic from previous owner)
I have installed the new USDM waterpump and new serp belt and a new timing belt, as well as lightweight aluminum pulleys. I got the spark plug painted the same color as the wheels and installed that.
i put the wheels on the car last night to see how they would look with the blue lug nuts and it looks pretty good. now i just need some damn center caps!
front:
rear:
and the ass shot.
Ripped out the cage and painted it black with glittery sparkle paint
well got the USDM 550's swapped over, got the spark plugs changed out,the got the USDM turbo's put on and done. and modded the JDM heatsheild to "fit" LOL
got the motor wired up.
then went ahead and LIFTED
and dropped
Got it started!
Got the car running and driving, kind of. (June 23rd 2009 my birthday)
Had to get it towed home
Redid some of the things in the engine bay. and it was DONE!.......for now.
here is 2 vids of the car with open downpipe, untuned at about 7psi
Here are some more pic's of the car in 2009.
Got the car on the dyno and had the bov and the IC pipe blow off at 4500 rpm at 15psi, so this is the only vid i got of it.
The car on 16psi with the stock us turbos on the way out made about 330whp on 15psi...
i took these pic's the last night the car was out for the year. (November 2009)
And the Winter 2009/2010 project begins.
and i thought i wanted to stay with the stock twins.
and a little interior shot. (Nick got me the pink harness's for Christmas
the new turbo
got some parts laying around.
me putting stuff together.
had to do a mockup to see how it was gonna look.
pic of the car in it's winter hiding spot.
Nick finished polishing the valve covers and i plumbed up the oil feed and return lines to the turbo as well as put the manifold/turbo,wastegate and downpipe on. As well as installed a oil cooler.
Finished doing the single turbo install as well as redoing the intercooler piping, and oil/trans cooler.
Got the car all put together and put some miles on it in (May 2010).
Picked up a New Koyo radiator and a apexi radiator cap. (May 2010)
Took the car up to Road America for the Midwest F-Body Associations lapping event, couldn't run the car though do to some cooling issues and some transmission issues.
Went to the Subaru City Subaru/Import car show. had a good time. had lots of people coming over and looking at the car. (End of June 2010)
A local dyno shop had a Dyno Day event going on, thought it might be fun to go and visit. got talked into putting the car on the rollers. 15psi untuned hitting TWO MASSIVE cut's do the car not being in the right gear on the dyno. ugh still made 410whp untuned.
and a few more video's from the summer of 2010.
I got a date Sept. 3rd at Sound Performance in Chicago to get it tuned

2 things to say....taking the wiring harness off the 2j was way more then a PITA...and the motor (though it may sound like it did) was a total bitch to get in and right.
must say though that well at times it was frusterating it was really fun. and now to see it finally running with all the kinks out it totally awesome.

^ I know exactly what you mean. Fucking buddies 1jz we are working on was annoying to get that harness in and out threw all the little places it sneaks itself through.
And Thanks for the thanks liz! Love the car

I was there for a few but never saw any of the pre 2j stage pics. it just really shows all the work you guys did. You should def get a photo album just like how you layed it out on here. It would be hella tight for car shows

it wasn't even where it went so much as it was we needed to get all the connectors off w/out breaking them (then it would cost more to get the harness made)
and no prob. for the help lizz. im pretty sure you and nick would do the same.

from what they told me not so well. the car didn't want to stay in 3rd gear (which i guess for 2j's is where the best gear ratio is) due to the computer. There's some way to trick it to stay in 3rd but it takes awhile.

what he said... so pretty much i paid 150 bucks for them to push a few buttons and add fuel the the car... :-/ i got a friend whos a tuning fanatic and really good at everything, so once we figure out the problem now (running really rich, possibly stuck injector, or bad fuel pressure regulator) then well figure it all out.... yay

Yep. 4 runs and they topped it out at 424hp & 378 ft lb. That's without knowing what cam is in it (ebay motor). Now it idles and doesn't cut out at WOT.
